Pattern Cutting for Knitwear

A practical 3.5-hour workshop exploring how to create your own knitwear patterns : from extracting measurements from a knitted garment, through to a spec sheet and paper pattern.

We’ll work through a Crew Neck Set-In Sleeve as the base pattern, while also covering how to adapt the pattern for a Dropped Shoulder and V Neck.

You’ll work through:

• Measuring a knitted garment and getting comfortable with key measuring points

• Recording measurements on a specification sheet

• Understanding ease and proportions in knitwear

• Creating a basic paper pattern from your measurements

• Adapting a pattern for a dropped shoulder

• Developing a V-neck
